Buttery Drop Biscuits

These flakey and buttery drop biscuits are the perfect compliment to any breakfast and are so divine! 



Ingredients

  • 2 cups AP flour
  • 1 tbsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup plant milk
  • 1 tbsp. white vinegar
  • 1 stick / 1/2 cup vegan butter, frozen

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. 
  2. Prepare your 'buttermilk' by combining the plant milk and vinegar in a small bowl. Set aside. 
  3. Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. 
  4. Cut the frozen vegan butter into the flour mixture with a pastry cutter or knives until the mixture resembles cornmeal with small peas of butter. 
  5. Stream in the 'buttermilk' and mix just to combine. 
  6. Scoop the dough onto a tray and bake for about 15- 22 minutes or until golden on the bottom and firm.
  7. Remove from the oven and optionally brush with a little more melted vegan butter and sprinkle with flaky salt. 
  8. Serve immediately with your favorite breakfast foods or use the biscuit to make a breakfast sandwich!
